Giggle Time with Daddy!

We have started a nightly routine when daddy comes home from work. Tickle time! Ryan can sure get her laughing pretty good and it's sooo funny to watch! Here are a couple videos of the infamous "tickle time".

Starting Fruits and Veggies

We have been starting Shelby on solids for a little while now and since she had gotten the hang of rice cereal down pretty well we decided it was time to try other foods; like green beans and peas. We've found out that she seems to accept peas a lot better than she does green beans but hey, at least she'll eat em both! She totally loves the peas though; she sucks those right down!

She absolutely LOVES peas now. She can't seem to get enough and will open her mouth and lunge forward when she sees the spoon coming her way now; too funny!

Here is a pic of the last time we were at Mima and Pops house. Mima was feeding her some rice cereal and boy did she have a good time. Just look at that smile! Such a happy girl even when covered with food!

2 Years

Yesterday, June 19th, was our 2 year anniversary. My goodness how time flies when you're busy and having fun huh? Yesterday started out awesome with Ryan and Shelby bringing me breakfast in bed. He made one of my favorites; french toast and strawberries and bananas. Yum, yum, yum! It sure was a nice surprise!

While I was eating my breakfast Ryan grabbed Shelby and said they had to go run a "surprise errand for mommy." Ok...sounds fun...wish I could go, haha! While they were gone I was able take a shower without having to play peek-a-boo out the shower curtain to entertain Shelby. I was also able to clean the bathrooms and kitchen too; finally! After a couple of hours the happy couple returned home (Shelby was sound asleep and snoring in her car seat). Apparently all the fun-ness wore her out, haha! I asked how the long errand went and what the surprise was. I was told it was hidden in the car and that I'd have to go find it. So, down to the car we went. This is what I found!

Ellie has a new look!

Ryan got the front two windows tinted and also got a tint strip put across my windshield. AWESOME!!! I have been wanting to get all of the windows tinted the same since we bought the Escape. I hate driving and having people see inside my vehicle; plus the tint makes it a little easier on my sensitive eyes on those sunny days...whenever we get them. I was so excited!! Totally made my day!


A little later that morning there was a knock on the door and Ryan went to see who it was. Mr. UPS man dropped off a package and Ryan said it was for me. I said he could bring it in but he just said "Nope, it's for you; you can get it." And with a smirk on his face he closed the door. Haha! I got up and went to get the package and noticed it was from Pro-Flowers. Can this day get any better? I guess it can! Inside were 2 dozen beautiful red roses. Love them!! I asked if he was going to get a dozen flowers for each year we've been married on our upcoming anniversaries. 50 dozen roses sure would fun huh? Haha! Can you imagine all the vases we'd need; holy cow!

This picture doesn't even do the flowers justice. They are all opened now and big and beautiful. They smell great and look amazing. This anniversary was awesome; I wouldn't have changed a thing except I wish Ryan could have stayed home all day instead of just half. But, it was a great day none-the-less. Happy 2 Year Anniversary babe and many many more to come!

Seems like only yesterday...

Ryan's Fathers Day

This year was Ryan's first official Fathers Day and boy was it a good day! I decided I wanted to make Ryan a massive candy message card. You know; the kind that usually start with "Hey Sugardaddy!" or something similar. I will admit I didn't really feel like taking the time, nor did I have the time, to sit and think of clever stuff that would go along with candy bars. I googled "candy bar cards" and all sorts of different pictures popped up of different cards. None of them were quite what I was looking for but I was able to borrow a couple good one-liners to use. So, I did end up making up about 3/4 of the card myself. It turned out great though; I think.

It took quite a while to write out and get everything spaced so it would all fit decently. Shelby was a great little helper in the sense that her little hands kept handing me the candy bars when I needed them...or was that take them away? Oh ya...that's right. Her little "helping hands" made things a bit less productive so I banished her to her swing for the remainder of the card making time. She wasn't too pleased with me, and sure let me know, but she survived. :-)

Ryan loved the card and admitted he hadn't ever had about 1/2 of the candy bars on there...me either though. I just needed them to make the card work. Shelby recognized the candy after we gave the card to dad and decided to try and be sneaky and take the candy off. Notice the nerd box is a bit crooked; courtesy of Shelby.

And last but not least here are Ryan and Shelby on their first Fathers Day. What a cute couple they are; best buds for sure! Shelby sure does love her daddy and so do I. Happy First Fathers Day Ryan!

Visits With Great-Grandma & Grandpa Kershaw

Yesterday we decided it would be fun to go out and visit with my grandparents and so Shelby could see her great-grandparents again. It had been a couple months since we had seen them and Shelby is changing so much lately that I wanted to make sure they could see her as she progresses.

Shelby is going through the "stranger anxiety" phase and usually ends up crying after about 30 seconds of someone "new" holding her. I was concerned that she would start screaming and crying when they held her but that was NOT the case at all! She was totally in love with them! She laid with Great-Grandpa in his recliner and she let him give her a back rub and she even snuggled with great-grandma for a bit too.

We were able to get a picture of Shelby with both of them together as well. I love this picture; it's such a sweet picture to me.

A funny thing happened while Ryan and Grandpa were off getting pizza for dinner. You see, grandma loves scotty dogs and she has a couple figurines of them on the bottom shelf of the table in her living room. Shelby can now reach those with ease so Grandma put them on the top of the table while we were there. When she moved them she noticed some dust on the bottom shelf. She grabbed a rag and got on her hands and knees to dust it off. Shelby was on the floor by the table playing with her toys and noticed grandma on the floor too. Shelby spun herself around so fast, and so excited, and got up on her hands and knees with the biggest smile on her face! Haha!! I guess she thought grandma was going to play with her. It was so cute and hilarious to see how excited she got.

It was a good trip; we really enjoyed ourselves and Shelby had such a good time too. She was such a good girl. Little Molly, their dog, even had her moment with Shelby. She had to sniff her completely to make sure she was acceptable. After the sniff she had nothing to do with her the rest of the visit, haha! Too funny.

We're looking forward to more and more visits!
