A cup of salt!

So Ryan and I love to cook and we like to try new recipes. The past couple of days we've wanted to find a good recipe for Beef Stroganoff. We also watch a lot of food network shows and have wanted to try some of those yummy looking dishes. Well...we found a recipe on the food network website. It's a recipe by Paula Deen for all you cooking fans out there.

The recipe calls for a "house seasoning" for the meat, which consists of salt, black pepper and garlic powder. As Ryan was reading the recipe to me he let out a "Are you serious?" type yelp. "Have you looked at this recipe? It calls for a CUP OF SALT! That's gonna be so nasty!"

I was in denial cause I was the one who found the recipe and thought it sounded great. Sure enough it called for a CUP of salt. We changed our minds about trying that recipe rather quickly until a few minutes after "Oh gross"-ing it, we noticed an instruction under the house seasoning ingredients. It read:

"Mix the ingredients together and store in an airtight container for up to 6 months."

Wow...do WE feel smart. Haha! We'll be trying the recipe after all...but we won't be using a CUP of salt.
