Kaeli came up to visit for a few days during her spring break. Since we have a large heated indoor pool here we knew we'd be spending time in the pool every day. Kaeli forgot to bring her goggles so we made a quick trip to the store to get some goggles and diving rings. While we were looking at the pool toys Shelby, unbeknownst to us, was getting rather bored and apparently hungry. We turned around to place something in the cart and found her stuffing strawberries into her mouth. We laughed so hard! I couldn't believe that she had gotten the container open by herself. She ate 2 strawberries!
When we were done at the store we decided to stop at DQ on the way home to grab an ice cream cone. Kaeli shared bites with Shelby but when Kaeli was done she left the cone within Shelby's reach. You can probably guess what happened next. Yup! Shelby had her first taste of a cone and some melted chocolate ice cream. She sure enjoyed it, as you can tell by the chocolate ring around her face. She was, once again, in heaven. This girl loves her ice cream!
We waited for Ryan to come home from work before we went and played in the pool and while we were waiting we watched the Princess Sophia movie. Shelby is completely addicted to this movie and decided she needed to sit with Kaeli during the entire movie; probably because she had a box of crackers that she liked. She also adores her Auntie Kaeli. They shared crackers and Shelby even tried stealing one right outta Kaeli's mouth! Oh man...this girl just wouldn't stop eating!
Yesterday I was working on some emails when I noticed it was awfully quiet in the apartment. I looked around and saw Shelby standing over by the table and thought nothing of it. She seemed content. A few minutes later she came over to me and the computer and this is what I saw. A lovely chocolate covered face along with hands and clothes. I was lucky enough to receive a hug from said chocolate covered child and I got chocolate hand prints on my shirt and pants. Good thing this stuff washes out right?
And last but not least Kaeli had to be fed...haha! Our apartment complex had an Easter party last weekend and invited the kids from the complex to come take part in face painting, an egg hunt, and games. Kaeli found one of the 3 special eggs that were hidden with the many others and got to choose a special prize. She decided on this massive chocolate egg which was bigger than her head! It was huge! She also got another prize because she found 22 eggs; one of the top egg finders. She chose a giant chocolate bunny for her second prize. She made out like a bandit at this shindig! Kaeli wanted a picture with her giant egg so we figured it would be best to do so while Shelby was asleep so she wouldn't want any; haha!
It has been a fun couple of weeks. There is never a dull moment with Shelby around; and when you get Shelby and Kaeli together...watch out! Crazy fun!
