We decided to give Shelby some rice cereal tonight since she's been eating more often and hasn't been sleeping as well lately. (thanks mom for the suggestion) Don't know if it's because of her cold that she hasn't been sleeping well or not, but she's 5 months now and totally ready for some "thicker" food. Maybe this'll help her sleep better and keep her tummy full longer? We don't know, but it it sure was fun feeding her the rice cereal for the first time.
Surprisingly she loved it! She wasn't so sure about it after the first spoonful but after the second and third one she couldn't wait long enough for us to get the spoon into her mouth. She'd stick her tongue in and out really fast and try to lick the spoon as it was going into her mouth; hilarious!

I think this is going to be a nightly routine now before bedtime. Maybe in a few weeks we'll starting trying to give her some fruits...oooo this is gonna be fun!
At the same time though...it's sad...cause she's growing up! Just tonight after Ryan put her to bed he came out and said "I miss the days when she'd eat when she was hungry and sleep when she was tired and not fight anything." So true....but it's all uphill from here cause she's only getting older. I'm excited for all the other milestones and picture opportunities that'll soon come!
